For what it's worth, I got a Painless kit made for trunk mount panel and battery, largest quantity of circuits, didn't have to extend any wires, ZERO problems. What I have now is a sealed and vented battery box, passenger side trunk (Summit SUM-G1231) with a hot-on-start starter cable (meaning its dead the rest of the time) thanks to a Ford F-150 starter solenoid. When you turn the ignition switch, it turns a rack on the end of the switch, which pulls a rod up and down the column. On the end of the rod running down the column, just after the column goes through the dash, there is a sliding switch with the electrical contacts for the ignition. That is where the fuse box gets key-on power.
