Here's a pic of it out of the truck, it normally lives under its own cover in a little side box on the main fuse panel under the hood in 2015+ F-150s. When this is installed there is a short cable run from the battery +ve to the ring terminal, and then 3 big power cables coming off each screw terminal going into the truck.

Doesn't the code require a certain amount of wire (maybe 3") to be able to be pulled out the front of the box? Or is that only for boxes where devices are terminated? Exception: Conductors that are not spliced or terminated at the outlet, junction, or switch point shall not be required to comply with 300.14. I think you got it.
